Review of the lollipop baby camera! 🍭

I was kindly gifted this camera in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own!

So my baby camera started to break about a month ago and I was looking for a camera that didn’t require to be turned on constantly and carrying around a monitor whenever I went. The sound of static would stop me sleeping and the out of range was useless. So when lollipop contacted me I was excited to try something new. I immediately jumped at the chance and I’m so glad I did.

The turn around time is so quick It arrived the next day and was a beautiful camera. You can even order it with prime! It was really well presented and easily shows how to connect and fit it. I choose the colour blue as we’re planning on decorating Elijahs new bedroom in the new house and wanted something that wouldn’t stand out too much! The camera can wrap around bits and bobs or be hung against the wall with a stand they supply which is fantastic! The Camera is really flexible and you can move it around. It also comes with wire hiders so you can attach to wall or hide against a wall without damage and need for nails for the wires!

Setting up was a bit confusing but once I worked it out it was fantastic. The camera works through a app on phone and sends notifications if your child moves across a area, Cries or even makes any noise. You can also have camera set as background audio so hear constantly or just have notifications and open when you hear them. I sleep and wake up when I hear a notification. I thought I wouldn’t but I hear it when it’s on loud. It’s fantastic if your walking round house or hanging washing out too. I can now have a bath without worrying about a monitor breaking or not hearing.

The sound quality is fantastic. The photo quality is amazing. The day and night mode both pick everything up and you can also set up recording of your little ones moments. You can also talk thorough the camera which is interesting and the best bit is you can play music or white noise so that your child sleeps. Elijah already has a white noise machine but sometimes I play the hoover sound and he notices no different.

You can change a lot of settings for your child. You can change how sensitive you want it and loud you want it. As the photos below show the clarity and the notifications so you know what’s going on when you watch it. Elijah is rugby tackling James when he went to read his bed time story and get ready for bed which I found hilarious I got a notification about the noise. The second he was talking to James after refusing to sleep 😂

Overall it may be a bit pricey but you get what you pay for I’ll use for a few more years and if I was to have another child I’d buy this again! I wish I had it when he was a newborn!

Chewy moon review.

Elijah is a mega snack lover and we find it so hard to find new things for him to try when chewy moon offered some samples we leaped at the chance. We where sent a large selection (you can see each name on the photo with the product names on) to try and see if Elijah liked them. These are quite similar to a few high street brands but i think the quality is so much more than normal snack companys ive tried from local supermarket trips. The chewy moon packaging looks fantastic. I love all the Animal prints that remind me a bit of the design of a totem poll. If these where prints they’d be something i would seriously think of having in my sons bedroom as a theme. I like all the colour usage and there isnt a specific wrapping for a product so its like a lucky dip.

The products are healthy and packed full of good stuff the sugars are more natural then tons of produced foods. This means your child gets lots of minerals and nutrients while snacking. As a mum i always worry about whether Elijah is getting enough healthy food into his diet. I think i always will which is why i like that with these products there is a nutritional leaflet too! You can see whats inside and decide what to give your child.

There where a few dry fruit packets which Elijah loves. Anything remotely healthy for Elijah is a win for me. Luckily he has always liked healthy snacks as much as naughty ones. So far his favourite is the strawberry hearts he enjoyed taking his time to eat them too and the fact they looked like a tiny strawberry in the shape of a heart, The small size meant he didn’t need to scoff his face. He also really enjoyed the honey biscuits too and even i partake in a little snack they where quite sweet and tasty .

The size portions are enough for your child and perfect for on the go it means you can pack in your bag without taking up to much room and pack more that one and offer choice. We still have a few to try but so far we have tried almost all of them and Elijah has liked each and every single one.

Why you should be trying to use soaps more.

I love using all sorts of products but I am up for trying anything new. I’ve been trying to use more soaps instead of shower gels. I have to say I’ve not always been a fan of soaps I’ve found they’re really drying but I’ve noticed since trying small business homemade products I haven’t had any irritation. I try not to use if I have a flare just incase but they have really been quite nice.

Obviously shower gels contain a lot of plastic and drying products that can irritate our skin. Also the wastage is not fab for the planet so I’ve been trying to use soap more to not only improve my skincare but also my carbon footprint.

I was kindly gifted some products from Ètre toi. These soaps have been really great for all the family to use. We where sent a zesty orange one and a grapefruit and Himalayan salt one.

Elijah likes sniffing the orange one and washing his hands with it and has had no irritation. The thing I like about these is they really foam up and go a long way. I love the freshness of the orange one which I can’t stop sniffing as it smells just like a freshly peeled orange.

The Himalayan salts in the grapefruit soap work well with the smell to give a slight exfoliation at the same time. Himalayan salts have many beauty and health benefits and are something I love to use in my baths so I’ve been using this in the bath alongside the salts I have.

Into the green candle review. As seen in vogue magazine!

It’s always exciting working with a new company and as you are very aware by now I am the candle connoisseur. I’m addicted to candles and there is something about lighting a candle at the end of the day that screams I’m done and ready to relax. I also have a strong belief that you’re not done cleaning till you’ve lit a wax melt at the end of it and all the smells in the room just wait through the house and make you feel cosy and clean again.

I was very fortunate to be offered some candles in exchange for this review. So they where kindly gifted. They have recently been featured in vogue magazine and that made me all the more excited. I used to always buy things I saw in magazines as of course they have teams that research these products meticulously. So to be highlighted in such a big magazine screams brilliant product.

First of all the items are beautiful. The packaging and the product style is simple and chic. They’re small so no massive candles floating around and can easily store away if you don’t like them on show you can out away with the screw lid.

Breathe and Be is my fav. It smells like mint which I love when I’m feeling unwell and stressed out as it’s a clearing revitalising smell. It smells so fresh and clear and you can feel your lungs opening when you sniff it. The wax burns really well and you can smell after around a minuite really strong. It is so fresh and feels like it’s opening you up as you breathe in! This is the newest candle and I adore it!

I was also sent kissed by the moon which is another fantastic smell. I think it smells like a relaxing night time candle. It smells calming and makes me feel at ease. My anxiety feels like it’s a bit more calm when I’m relaxed so hats of to this candle! It smells almost floraly but earthy at the same time.

Lola-Rae candles review

Hi ladies and gentlemen welcome back to my blog! Today I thought I’d do something a little bit different and view a small businesses candles selection. They kindly sent me some to try in exchange for a review so here we are! Anyone who knows me that my thing is candles and I probably have about 50 candles and wax melts in my house at any one time! So one could say I’m a bit of a snob. My usual go to candles are sweet or homey smells. My all time favourite brands are yankee candles and sand and fogs range all the way from the untied states. One could say I have a expensive taste. However that doesn’t mean I don’t partake in the occasional home bargains candle and hope for the best. So without further adue let’s get into this review. And from just opening the box and smelling the goodies inside I know it’s going to be a good one!

So first impressions. The candles come very well packaged with very little risk of breakage. The packaging is sleek and simplistic my sort of style. I hate bright in your face candles that look like a Poundland special. Sorry Poundland it’s not personal. The candle box is simplistic and pretty it reminds me of something I can’t put my finger quite on! The jars are simple and pretty again with their logo on and the chosen scent. I love these jars because when they’re empty I wash them up and use to store bits and bobs in them like sweets or cotton wall. The wax melts are absolutely adorable and I love the little tiny size it goes to show a little goes a long way. The heart shape is really quite pretty. Lastly but not least the snap pods are in a easy tub which you simply pop the lid of, again sleek and elegant design. All of their products come with safety advice clearly highlighted on the back which i think is such a fantastic idea!

First up is the candle. This candle is Thyme, olive & bergamot. First of all this candle completely took me by surprise. I opened up to sniff and oh my god I was completely taken aback. The smell is so strong and fresh and filled my nostrils up with the fresh smell. I absolutely love it. Dare I say it? I found it stronger than a yankee candle. I know. That good! I’d describe the smell as similar to a men’s aftershave. It reminds me of my husband and I know he will absolutely love it too. Obviously as it’s a candle they’ll be a long burn time which is always a bonus. Plus it looks so pretty in my bedroom and living room or even my bathroom.

Onto the wax melts. I’d say these are to buy to sort of try a product before buying. These would be prefect for small little burners around the house.

Sun washed linen is the next scent I got to trial! I love the smell of laundry on a washing line and this is that exact smell. It reminds me of elijah being a baby and hanging his washing out and giving it a big sniff. I adore this smell and can’t wait to burn it.

Peony’s are my favourite flowers so naturally I love anything peony related. My wedding bunch included one and my anniversary flowers have the most beautiful bulbs about to bloom! This scent has lychee in too! It smell phenomenal and fresh. It also smells fruity and like a sweet I am in love with this one and want a big candle! WOW!

Next up we have the pink champagne and pomelo. Again they smell really strong and beautiful. A slightly fancy smell perfect as a gift. Again the fruit in it makes a fresh fruity smell which really works well with the champagne! Very sweet and lovely.

Snap pod up next! Easy to snap one out and pop in your burner. This one is black Raspberry &Peppercorn . This is a soft smell. Very soothing

I was kindly gifted these items and all opinions are my own and honest. I will be purchasing again once I’ve used them all up. Very soothing and warming smell. Smells like a homey smell which is one of my favourite things about a candle.

So that’s everything. They all burn well and my house smells amazing no matter which one I use. I imagine they’ll last a long time and i have got to say I’m really impressed these may be my favourite candles I have ever had. The perfect gift and the perfect everyday purchase. No mater your budget they’re very affordable.

Messy play in partnership with Hartley’s fruit !

Hi all as we reach day 2636526 in lock down we’ve been thinking of ways to keep our little one busy and thought why don’t we share those ideas with you. The lovely people at Hartley’s fruit gifted us lots of jelly to share with others what we get up to with jelly!

I know what your thinking jelly? That’s just for eating? Well yeah it’s for eating BUT you can also play with it. You can hide things in it and explore the texture as you try to fish bits out of it! SO if you’re looking for a cheep and easy activity then look no further!

All you need is jelly, you can buy Hartley’s jelly in most supermarkets and corner shops as well as online! Then you can get inventive. I like to set a theme today I used Elijahs little dinosaurs and we had a dinosaur theme. We have previously done jungle animals, the lion king theme and we’ve even used fruit too! If your child is still at age where everything is in the mouth I suggest bigger toys they can’t choke on or cut up fruit!

How to make: Simply follow the manufacturer’s instructions and when it’s starting to cool out the fruit or toys in. Then when it is completely cool put in the fridge to set for a few hours I suggest a minimum of three hours!

Now the fun part! Get it out and put some old clothes on and get ready to get messy! Get some tools out if you wish, I got a spoon but we’ve previously used whisks, chopsticks and lots more to squish into the jelly.

While your child plays talk to them while they explore. Talk to them about the texture and ask them questions. Ask if it’s squishy? Ask if it’s cold. Ask how it feels in their hands. Talk about how it is cold and how it is wobbly. Talk about what your using to get the toys/fruit out. Count how many objects you remove from the jelly and talk about if they’re sticky or not.

We enjoy getting bigger toys and splashing them in the jelly also! It’s a great play idea which you don’t have to worry about them eating the product!

We find this a super fun idea we play with other children when they come round and can’t wait to do more play with others after lockdown!

To clean up, once all the toys have been removed allow them to eat some jelly. If you’ve made to much save for later in the fridge. To finish just simply wash up as normal and add the toys and utensils to the washing up pile. Remove dirty clothes and wash hands it’s that simple.
